This is real, not photoshopped. The year was 1999. AOL wouldn’t allow you to enter any chat room that had no people in it and would pop up an error message with the name of the room and stating it was empty. My daughter attempted to enter an empty chat room, called “hell”, resulting in this amusing error message:
